Logistical challenges
The company manages several storage systems for raw materials, semi-finished and finished products. In several areas of the plant, a high-density shuttle storage system is in operation, which requires absolute reliability and an immediate response to both preventive and corrective maintenance, in order to avoid stock-outs and costly machine downtime in the production process.

Solution implemented
Orbel Ingeniería installed a new storage area with capacity for 1,100 pallets, each weighing up to 1,200 kg, operated by two Toyota Radioshuttle units using a LIFO inventory management system. This new installation has been designed to be fully integrated with the plant’s other existing storage systems, ensuring smooth and coordinated operations.

Results
The robustness and reliability of the installed systems have led to a significant improvement in inventory management. Thanks to shorter after-sales service response times and fewer downtimes of the shuttle units, the plant has been able to optimise its operational availability and ensure a constant supply to the production lines without technical interruptions.
